who are they

for farmhers, by farmhers

“If you ate today, thank a FarmHer.”

Helen’s Daughters was born out of the belief that there was a need to support rural women in the Caribbean region with the use of adaptive agricultural techniques, capacity building and improved market access.

From agricultural training to pro-bono health services, and even a farm-to-table cooking show, Helen’s Daughter take a holistic approach to empowering women in the agricultural sector. We are proud to partner with them and support them in their mission.

our partnership

We welcome Helen’s Daughters at Project Chocolat

It’s their ‘home from home.’

As well as hosting the Helen’s Daughters community for workshops and collaborative meetings, we at Hotel Chocolat allocated part of our Project Chocolat farmland to support the training of two Helen’s Daughters apprentices a year. The first two began their educational journey in October 2022. Using a sophisticated biodome and aquaponics system for sustainable, organic farming, and working alongside our experienced cacao farmers, the apprentices learn the skills, business acumen and tools to enter the agricultural marketplace as producers and vendors. They receive best-in-class training in progressive, sustainable farming techniques, hardwiring the nature-positive farming principles that are vital in the fight against climate-change.

We purchase everything they grow on their farm to use in our cacao cuisine at Project Chocolat and Rabot Hotel. On your visit to Project Chocolat, make sure to buy some Helen’s Daughters merchandise to help support their cause.
